Welcome to the sign up for Zealand Winter Competition (ZWC) 2024 which will take place
25th of October 2025
at Zealand – Sjællands Erhvervsakademi
Maglegårdsvej 2, 4000 Roskilde
After the competition there will be an optional dinner at the school, which you have to sign-up for, before the deadline.
Afterwards there will be a party with “hygge” and a small performance from the judges of the day – PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU HAVE TO SIGN-UP FOR DINNER TO PARTICIPATE AT THE PARTY
For accomodation, we recomend contacting Scandic Roskilde, located less than 200 metres from the school.
This year it is possible to pre-order sandwiches through the sign-up.

This year we have an Early Bird offer for sign-ups before the 1st of July 2025.
Sign-up closes the 12th of October 2025 – please note that sign-up after the deadline will be for a higher fee, and only possible if there is room in the schedule.
Judges:
Piping: Kyle Rothschild
Kyle is a long-time member of the grade 1 St. Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band (IRE). His piping career began in California, but he later moved, first to Scotland, then Ireland, where he played with, amongst others, the Vale of Atholl Pipe Band. Kyle is a keen solo piping competitor as well and has won numerous prices.
Drumming: Kerr McQuillan
Kerr is the Leading Drummer for the Peoples Ford Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band. Having grown up within the Boghall system, Kerr was taught by Tom Brown MBE, Gordon Brown and Stephen McQuillan. In 2023, Kerr became the youngest on record to win the adult World Solo Drumming Championships. Kerr spends his weekdays teaching at The High School of Glasgow. Kerr is also a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a Bachelor of Music degree, in traditional music. In addition to his pipe band accomplishments, Kerr is a member of Drums n’ Roses.

With the high number of participants in solo piping last year, we have decided to add a second piping judge for the 2025 event.
2nd piping judge is yet to be announced.
